    Biography

Dan Rosensweig once famously convinced Mark Zuckerberg to sell Facebook to Yahoo for $1 billion on a handshake — a deal that later fell through, but it gives you a good idea of his impact on a number of industries and prominent American companies. Before taking the helm of the online textbook-rental giant Chegg.com, Dan Rosensweig was president and CEO of Activision’s über-successful Guitar Hero Division. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of Yahoo, where he was responsible for product development, marketing and international and North American operations for the online behemoth. As an investor and adviser to OZY, Dan brings a wealth of media and business experience from Yahoo, as well as from his days as president of Cnet Networks and vice president and publisher of PC Magazine, which became the leading computer magazine in both reach and revenue under his leadership. And his place in the OZY origin story was cemented when he put us up and put up with us in his very own offices back when we were halfway between the coffee shop and Castro Street. We’ll always be grateful for the hospitality.
